Types of Extractions
There are a few different kinds of extractions, some considered non-surgical and others surgical extraction. What defines the kind of extraction necessary to remove your tooth is if the tooth can simply be "pulled out, or if an incision or cutting is necessary. If your tooth has broken near the gum line, has had previous dental work done on, such as a crown, root canal, etc. , this will require removal by surgical extraction. To verify the positioning of the tooth root(s) to the nerves and or sinus area, xray's will be required prior to the extraction.
Immediate Placement of Dental Implants
When your tooth is extracted, you may want to replace it with a Dental Implant. Depending on the location of the tooth and your specific conditions, the placement of an immediate implant is an ideal option. By doing an immediate placement you do not have the three months healing time to wait for placement of the implant another possible wait period for placement of your permanent crown.
